Personality types

Hello fellows,

In today's post, I decided to talk about children's personalities and how it impacts their developmental milestones. I was reading an article in the Parent's Canada magazine about the walking milestone. I was nodding while reading the whole article in agreement. We have to understand that every child has a different personality, not even the twins have the same personalities. So just think, if twins (who look so much alike) don't have same personalities, how can 2 children who may not even look anything alike? I am speaking this from on my personal experience and as well as some from what I have learned from Early Chilldhood Education program.

We start getting worried if one child is reaching a milestone and another child (around the same age) is not. Whereas, I really believe that we really should not be. As long as you know that your child is developing at a decent pace, you shouldn't really be concerned if he/she is not walking at 9 months. Before I go ahead into anymore details, I really do want to

Games...

Hello there again,

I feel like having some fun today. Let's incorporate some fun activities to do with our child(ren) while we are spending some quality time with them. I am a huge fan of spending quality time with my loved ones, that is the best way to be together. Before we actually get into the gaming and activities world, let's talk a little bit about me because that way you'd understand a little better. I have studied Early Childhood Education (ECE as I like to call it) and I do know about how children develop overtime, to some extent. I haven't been actively participating in the ECE field for the past, let's say, 2 years or so, so I have forgotten a lot about it. But now I feel, I'll need to start brushing up on my ECE knowledge to educate some of you guys (if you like) about this field and mainly for the purpose of my blog.

So, games...activities. There are a lot of age appropriate games and activities for every child out there, you just have to dig deeper. For the sake of this post and because

General parenting tips

Parenting....intimidating word, isn't it? No? OK, then I guess it is only for me. To me, it does sound intimidating. Just think of it; added number of chores, community/peer pressure to do it right, and most importantly, responsibility of a human being.

It is a great feeling being a mother, it's just out of our (or at least my) power to even imagine a human being growing inside you. Then you give birth to it and then you look after it for the rest of your life. I guess I am getting slightly off topic here. You are here for some parenting tips, not what I think or how my mind works. Right? Let's get to it then:

Tantrums

So, I have a toddler, as you might have read in my About section.

She gets angry, frustrated, screams, cries and all the tantrum things we all do. What should I do in situations like that? What DO I do in situations like that? Well, as we all know we should try to stay as calm as we can and try to calm them down too. I do that a lot of the times. I try to remember that she may be hungry, tired, or might need something. She is such a good kid, by the way. She rarely has tantrums, but when she does, they are bad!!!

And you know, it is pretty hard to stay calm at times. Sometimes I am not in the mood or sometimes I just don't want to be around and then

Family support

Hello everyone,

Let's talk about how important family support is in relationships, for a few minutes.

I was going through this phase where I really wanted to do something real badly, but my hubby was worried that what are people going to think. But he didn't really say yes or no, because he didn't want to hurt my feelings by saying no. By the way, both me and my husband's background is Pakistan and this happens a lot in Pakistan. People are really into other people's business, they want to know everything about everyone and they just need something to gossip about. I hate that.

Anyway, after a while when he didn't say anything, I figured there was something going on in his mind. After insisting a little, he said it. I smiled at his concern because he said it in the most cutest way possible, and said that we really shouldn't care about what people are going to say/think because
