Clean up, clean up...everybody everywhere

Hello everybody,

How is everyone doing? I hope your day is going well because mine is. :) Hubby just bought me an iPhone 😍. I am quite excited because this is my first ever, yes first ever, iPhone. I personally am not an iPhone person but I thought I'd give it a shot. I like Blackberry so much better, it's just so much better, in my opinion of course.

Moving on from my excitement, let's get right into the clean up mode. As you might have guessed this post will be about cleaning up and including your children into the chore as well. It is very important that children learn to do house chores from a young age, the reason I say is that they start developing habits in such a young age and it's up to you what habits you want to encourage and which ones to discourage. I started encouraging my daughter to
clean up from a very young age and everyone around me said she's too young, I said if I don't start encouraging her now she won't learn (that might sound harsh, but she wasn't too young, IMO). Of course everyone has their own ways of approaching things and situations, I am not trying to imply my way of approaching this onto you, that you should and you have to do it, NO. It is just my own opinion. I have seen children around 14-15 years old who are so lazy they'd just through things around and when you ask them to clean up they really wouldn't. How I approach cleaning up with my daughter is that I make it sound fun, instead of a chore. Make chores fun for your children, no matter how young or old; sing cleanup songs with young children, reward older children by giving pocket money and so on. Here's a picture I found,  which I really liked the idea of, while I was streaming through my Facebook newsfeed:

I am not taking any credit, and I don't know where this picture is from. If anyone knows please let me know so that I can credit the photo back to the owner.

We really have to think about and look at what habits of our children are we encouraging, intentionally or unintentionally. Are you letting them through their things around? Are you asking them to clean up after themselves? Are you telling them to put their dishes in the sink after they're done eating?

Join me in the comment section and let me know what habits of your child(ren) are you supporting and which one are being discouraged?

CLEAN UP! :)

  2. I agree with you. It is never too early to start teaching your child how to do things.
